The Bull Run team are currently working through the logistics of the charitable efforts and engagements, which obviously requires the support and assistance of a range of local councils, authorities and services. Final charity details will be released by February 2013.
As an event that begins in Yarra Valley, in the Yarra Ranges Council, we’re very conscious of the volatile nature of the surrounding bush land. It is our belief that the most charitable good we can do is by supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA) and the related Emergency Services (yet to be confirmed). After the devastation of Black Saturday, 7th February 2009, we recognize the heroism of these largely volunteer services, as they help protect the lives and homes of so many Australians living outside the major city’s limits.
Our race day, the 8th of December, 2013, is in the opening week of Summer, and thus the beginning of the Australian fire season, which heralds a busy time for all firefighters in Victoria; one of the world’s most fire-prone regions.
So get ready to register. Then help us Stampede Against The Fires!
